For those who don't know me, my name is Val Myers, married to Sandie. We have a son and daughter, Wayne and Jemma. Jemma and Stephen have a son, Dylan, two years old and wonderful. We live in Harrow, Middlesex, but try to get down to Cornwall whenever we can.
I am a University Lecturer and Sandie is a Social worker. Our interests are Linedancing, Watford FC, Country Music and Shopping. Guess who does the Country Music and who loves shopping - hard one that! I also play and teach chess.
We started linedancing in 1997 and now dance at least twice a week, usually more. I am qualified as a linedance teacher, completing the BWDA exams in 2001 and the UKA exams in 2002. I choreograph and run beginners classes which I find particularly enjoyable. For me, the greatest satisfaction in teaching is with beginners, as the learning curve is steepest with the maximum possible incremental gains.
I have developed a detailed process, structure and sequence for absolute beginners which gradually introduces steps and complexities, whilst acknowledging flexibility. This includes a series of specially choreographed dances or exercises, the "A - B" series as well as other custom designed dances.
